Today’s Windpower Wednesday Photo of the Day, by Subodh Naatu of India, was one of the winners in last year’s Global Wind Day photo competition.
In this award winning shot, a mechanic inspects the blades of the windmill before fitting on the rotor to ensure perfect working of the windmill.
Entries for this year’s competition close May 20.
The goal of the contest is to “draw the attention of the public and policymakers to wind energy and the power it holds to alleviate many social, economic and environmental challenges.”
Plus, the winner gets €1,000 plus bragging rights. And the winning photographs will be displayed at the WindEurope Summer Reception in Brussels and across both WindEurope and GWEC’s channels.
Creativity, content, composition and technique as well as a compelling story behind your photograph are the key criteria for the judges.
Awards in three categories
In this category, your photos should show how wind energy has benefitted your community.
Photos should represent people working in the industry, factories or in wind installation.
