Queenslanders turning to batteries in bid to cut bills

Some Queensland homeowners are rewiring parts of their homes and shelling out thousands of dollars for batteries in a bid to cut their power bills and ensure they’re not left in the dark as the State Government has announced that Power for hot water services and pool pumps may be switched off and rerouted in peak times for those who choose to be controlled tariffs, while electricity to hardwired home appliances on the same tariffs could also be cut.

In Townsville, 20 homeowners have turned to a battery hybrid system as they rewire their homes.
